Minabe no Himemiko's mother is Mei no Iratsume, who is a daughter of Soga no Kurayamada no Ishikawa Maro. She is the sister of Ahe no Himemiko (Empress Gemmei). She got married with Takechi no Miko and had two sons: Princes Nagaya and Suzuka. These two princes achieved a big success in Japan's aristocratic society several decades later.
母は蘇我倉山田石川麻呂の娘である姪娘。阿閇皇女（元明天皇）の姉。高市皇子と結婚し、長屋王・鈴鹿王をもうける。この二人はのちに大出世することになる。
