686年以前～天平宝字3年（759）1月25日／73歳以上
Her husband is Shiki no Miko. Her son includes Prince Kasuga.
The first record on her is that she visited Ise Jingu to see the Saio, Ohku no Himemiko, on the 4th month, 27th day of 686.
On the 9th month, 10th day of 698, she was selected by divination as the next Saio. The Saio system had been suspended since Ohku no Himemiko resigned from the Saio in 686. Emperor Mommu wished to set up the system again and let a himemiko serve the Goddess of Ise at all times.
In the 1st month, 701, she was suddenly dismissed from the position of Saio. After she returned the capital she got married with Shiki no Miko and gave birth to Prince Kasuga. She lived with her husband until he died on the 8th month, 11th day, 716.
She was confered as the rank of Ippon on the 4th month, 14th day, 749.
志貴皇子に嫁ぎ、春日王を産む。
天武天皇15年（686）4月27日に斎王・大伯皇女を伊勢神宮に訪ねたと書かれているのが最初の記録。
文武天皇2年（698）9月10日、次の斎王に卜定される。斎王制度は大伯皇女が朱鳥元年（686）に退下したあと途絶えており、文武天皇はそれを復活させ、常に皇女を誰か伊勢に奉仕させるようにしようとしたのである。
文武天皇5年（701）1月、突然、斎王を解任され、帰京後、彼女は志貴皇子の妃となり、春日王を生む。志貴皇子とは、霊亀2年（716）8月11日に先立たれるまで、共に暮らした。
天平21年（749）4月14日、一品に叙せられる。
