Ki no Himemiko is a daughter of Emperor Temmu and Ohnu no Otome whose father is Soga no Akaye. Her brother is Hodzumi no Miko, and her sister Tagata no Himemiko.
Some people say that she was once a wife of Karu no Miko, a grandson of Empress Jito, but no clear evidence exists.
Man'yoshu has some poems of her love of Yuge no Miko, a son of Ohye no Himemiko. No other historical materials recording about her life are existing. No records say that she married him.
天武天皇と蘇我赤兄の娘・大蕤（おおぬ）娘の娘。同母兄は穂積皇子、妹に田形皇女。
珂瑠皇子の妻になったことがあるという説もあるが、本当のところはわかっていない。
彼女についての記録は、大江皇女の子・弓削皇子との相聞歌が万葉集にみられるのみ。それ以外の史料で彼女について書かれているものは現存しない。また弓削皇子と結婚したという史料もない。
