She was made to marry Kawashima no Miko, who took part in the conspiracy of the rebellion with Ohtsu no Miko, Wosakabe no Miko and Shigi no Miko in 686 but he betrayed them. Because of his treachery, their attempts came out into the open and they were all punished except him.
After his death in 691, she never married anyone until she died in 741.
川島皇子の妃となるが、朱鳥元年（686）の大津皇子事件の折、川島皇子の密告によってその顛末が明らかにされ、そのとばっちりを受けて忍壁皇子は謹慎処分を受け、磯城皇子も不利益を受けることになる。
持統天皇5年（691）、川島皇子は亡くなってしまい、未亡人となった彼女はそのあと誰とも再婚することはなかったのである。
