Ota-no-himemiko is the first daughter of Naka-no-oe-no-miko, Uno-no-Sarara-no-himemiko's sister, and Oku-no-himemiko and Otsu-no-miko's mother. She was not in good health by nature. She died in around 668 when Oku-no-himemiko was seven years old and Otsu-no-miko five. Her body was buried on the 27th day of the 2nd month of that year, together with Empress Saimei and Ota's aunt, Empress Dowager Hashibito.
