Heijokyuseki, Nara
奈良・平城宮跡
Heijokyuseki is the site of the Palace of Heijo with 1.3km long east to west, and 1km north to south. It was built by the Empress of Gemmei as the palace in 710 and used until 794, located in the north of the capital spreading 4.3km (2 3/4 miles) east to west and 4.8km (3 miles) north to south.
平城宮跡は東西1.3km、南北1kmにおよぶ宮殿の遺跡であり、東西4.3km、南北4.8kmにわたる京の北部に宮として710年に元明天皇によって造営され、794年まで使用されたものである。
